Ordering

How can I order?

You can order by visiting our shop.

Is there a monthy fee?

Yes, there is a monthly fee of $12 AUD per month. This is a subscription fee for the Telstra network that the IndigoGPS device operates on. If you would like to opt for a yearly rate, please contact us.

Functionality

Is the tracking real-time?

No, tracking is near real-time. Latency exists between your vehicle’s real-world position and the position reported on the IndigoGPS dashboard. This means that you may have to wait up to 30 seconds for the vehicle’s location to update.

Is there any delay between an event triggered and getting notified?

This can depend on the strength of your network connection, but this delay can be up to 5 seconds.

Do I need to have the app open for IndigoGPS to work?

No, you do not need to have the app open. Your IndigoGPS device will still send data and you will still be alerted.

Do I need to be close to the vehicle for IndigoGPS to work?

No, you can log into the Indigo Dashboard and track your device from anywhere in the world.

Does IndigoGPS work on multiple vehicles?

Yes, multiple vehicles can be connected to the same account and the data for all vehicles can be viewed on the same dashboard.

Does IndigoGPS drain my phone's battery?

No, the device includes its own GPS antenna meaning that it does not need to use the one in your mobile device.

Will IndigoGPS affect my car's warranty?

The installation of the device does not affect the vehicle in any way, therefore IndigoGPS will not affect the vehicle’s warranty.

Is the device hard to install?

No, all you need to do is plug it into your cars OBDII port.

Can I switch the device to another car?

Yes, just plug it into another compatible vehicle.

Does the IndigoGPS device need to be charged?

Yes, the IndigoGPS device does include a backup battery and will continue to track when disconnected until the backup battery has been drained. In addition, you will be notified that the device has been unplugged and the last location when the device was plugged in will be sent to you.

Will IndigoGPS drain my car's battery?

Availability

Is IndigoGPS available in my country?

IndigoGPS operates on the Telstra network, meaning that it is only available in Australia.

Can I only track from Australia?

No, you can log into your Indigo dashboard and track your vehicle from anywhere in the world.

Is there an app for Windows Phone and Blackberry?

No, however the web app functions on any device with a browser. Log in here.

OBDII Connector

What is an OBD connector?

OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics, and allows external devices to access your vehicle’s onboard computer.

Where is the OBD connector in my car?

The location of the OBDII connector can vary between vehicles, however normally it is located beneath the steering wheel, above or next to the pedals. If you are still unable to locate your vehicle’s OBDII port, please reference this page.
